3 Most Dangerous Myths About Searching for Public Records Online

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Lots of people would have us believe that conducting a reasonably comprehensive or especially free people search is a piece of cake. However, that would only be one of the three most dangerous myths about online public records floating around today. To begin with, (1) the availability of online public records is not as widespread as one might think. According to our research:

– Only 35% of public records can be found online;
– Nearly all/ every “free” government public record website contains no personal identifiers, i.e., for privacy purposes, they provide summarized information rather than information about specific individuals.

The federal, state, and local agencies that maintain public records systems make substantial efforts to limit the disclosure of Social Security numbers, phone numbers, and addresses. Some even go so far as to limit the use of the dates of birth. The Social Security number is no longer the “key search tool identifier” it was in the 1980s and early 1990s. Websites with open record searching available to the public generally require only a name, unless a specific case file or docket number or registration number, et cetera, can be substituted.

(2) Government agencies that offer online access on a fee or subscription basis generally disclose partial personal identifiers. Nowadays, very few give Social Security numbers, and those that do often cloak or mask the first five digits. Some cloak the month and date of birth, and only reveal the year of birth. For example, most U.S. District Court and bankruptcy court online systems reveal no personal identifiers on their search results, thus making a reliable “name search” nearly impossible (I’ve tried).

We point this out because the lack of identifiers presents a real problem for employers or financial institutions who, at the same time, are legally required to exert a certain amount of “due diligence” in the process of making certain decisions. The existence of any possible adverse information may have to be double-checked by a hands-on search to ensure the proper match of a given subject to a given adverse record.

Also, we noticed that many governmental websites offering online record access tend to include a warning or disclosure stating that their information could have mis-spellings and/ or should be used for “informational purposes only.” For this reason, such sites should be considered as supplemental or secondary sources only. Again, to protect individuals’ privacy, they may provide summarized information rather than information about specific individuals.

The upshot of which is simply that . . . (3) A criminal record search from such a source usually does not, in and of itself, comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulations involving preemployment screening . . . see video below:

In the meantime, you can find a dozen or so lists of public and private record information companies on this website:

Address and Telephone Numbers; other lists (provided on that same page) include information on the following topics:

– Aviation
– Bankruptcy
– Corporate/ Trade Name Data
– Credit Information
– Convicted Criminal Information
– Driver and/ or Vehicle
– Education/ Employment
– Environmental
– Foreign Country Information
– Genealogical Information
– Licenses/ Registrations/ Permits
– Litigation/ Judgments/ Tax Liens
– Military Service
– Patents
– Real Estate/ Assessors

Sometimes, the only way to conduct a reasonably certain background check online is from a reputable private vendor. A reputable online vendor may provide access to many records that might not be otherwise found online via Government online sources.

People who find out the reasons for tinnitus are easy to cure as they can get rid of hidden problem. Damage to the inner ear or extensive exposure to loud sounds, buildup of wax, age related problems or stricture of ear bones are all very common reasons of the occurance of tinnitus.

Common causes of tinnitus include the damage to the inner ear cell or fine cochlear hairs which conduct the sound. The Different Kinds of Pet Dog Training and Their Advantages

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Being a responsible dog owner goes beyond providing your dog with food, water and shelter.  If you want a more meaningful relationship with your dog, it is important to let him go through basic pet dog training.

Downers have the common misconception that only dogs with aggressive dog behavior need to undergo obedience training.  Unknown to many, even the mildest tempered puppies need to be trained, too.  The only difference is that these puppies need a different kind of training tailored to meet their needs as growing household companions.

Here are the different types of dog training:

1. Potty Training – Potty training can start as early as eight weeks to six months old.  The importance of potty training cannot be stressed to highly enough.  Puppies that are not properly trained to poop and pee in the right time and at the right place tend to develop compulsive dog behaviors which can become a problem as they grow into adults.  Not only do they grow into messy adults, these dogs have higher risks of developing behavior problems such as coprophagia, or dog poop-eating, among others.

A more detailed information on this condition and how to deal with this problem can be found in a dog training book.

2. Crate Training – Crate training can bring about the same benefits as potty training your dog.  However, this type of training covers a broader ground as far as dog behavior and canine psychology is concerned.  Like potty training, this should be done as early as eight weeks old.  Introducing a puppy to his very own crate will train him to be orderly and will develop in him a sense of his very own territory, his very own space where he can chew and play to his heart’s content.  This, then, leaves your own territory – including your furniture, clothes, and other belongings – free from being subjected to your dog’s chewing.

3. Obedience Training – As the term suggests, obedience training is aimed to meet and address problem behaviors in dogs such as excessive digging, jumping, biting and aggression.  This lessens the chances of your dog hurting you, hurting others, and hurting himself as well.

Pet dog training can take time and a lot of patience from you as the dog owner.  However, training your dog can yield priceless benefits in the long run: a happier dog and an even happier owner.

How To Choose A Tie

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

It is an art to match the tie correctly with the rest of the clothes and the occasion. So how do you perfect the tricks of it? Simply remember these few guidelines.

Always buy the tie of correct length. Standard tie lengths are 130-150cm. Tall men should request for longer ties. An appropriate tie length is when the triangle tip of the tie touches your belt buckle.

Unless you can afford to buy tie widths in fashion, buy a width of 8-9cm which is a general width and will never get out of fashion.

While purchasing mens silk ties to go with a suit, ensure that you carry the suit with you. You will then have a perfect idea of how the tie will look when worn. If the jacket is a sports coat then the color of the trousers must also be taken into consideration while selecting the tie.

Before buying, carefully check the tie for any manufacturing defect like loose threads, uneven weaving, stain, discoloration, smudge, etc.

Casual, regular office ties can be polyester blends, but business meetings and other occasions require italian silk ties or silk blend ties.

For all occasions, avoid ties with pictures and cartoons. These patterns are very informal and should be worn only to similarly informal occasions, like a birthday party or a family gathering.

A safe bet are solid colored, striped or dotted ties. Match them with the shirt or the suit and wear.

For job interview, business meeting, regular office and other serious occasions the selection of tie should be conservative. Set off a dark colored shirt or suit with a light toned tie in the same or complementing hue.  Do not wear a striped tie with a striped shirt, with the exception of a pin-striped shirt. A solid tie will be a better option.

Match patterns and textures of the clothing with the tie. With patterned shirts, its better to wear solid ties and vice versa. It will be a loud clash if you wear patterned tie with patterned shirt. This clash can be sobered by wearing a plain jacket with them.

A dark shirt is relieved by lighter colored tie and a bright shirt can be sobered by pairing it with a dark tie. Dark blue and dark red colors seldom go wrong in ties. You can also select a tie of the same color as your shirt or suit, but in a lighter or darker shade.

Are you aware that your face and skin also should affect your tie selection?

If you have a strong, angular face you should wear striped ties. Dotted and paisley printed ties go well with a round or baby face. Solid colors can be worn by everyone.

As you would match the shirt and suit to your skin before buying, so should you follow the same principles while selecting a tie.

So you can see that the choice of the tie depends on the occasion, the pattern of the shirt and jacket, and the color of the shirt and jacket.

Best Travel Web Sites On the Web

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

The best travel sites were always quite difficult to uncover. Using web search isn’t always too great a way of really getting at the top travel sites. Since I am a web entrepreneur with an eye on how my own sites are doing, I often found several excellent internet travel sites hard to get at deep on page 5 or 10 of google. So the first tip is to look further into the results for the best content.

Currently I am developing an oppotunity to try travel advertising for free and at a great on going price. I am hoping to attract some of the best travel sites on the internet with this offer with a view to creating a collection of the best travel sites. If you come across any great travel sites please point them in the right direction.

A lot of travel authors are not aware of they way in which one gets a site ranked well in search engines. Internet surfers have the ability to help get those top travel sites to the top of the search engines by adding a link to a social bookmarking site. These services allow users to vote for the content they like. This results in highly rates pages being easy to find on the in house search results. Unfortunately many great articles are not listed.

Another useful way I am working on to find great content are travel web pages. Travel pages are articles from a divers range of travel writers with links back to their own websites. If at the end of your search you do not find what you are looking for then there is surely a need to create it! You can get the information on the web fast using the same service.

Learn How To Mix Wedding Day Diamonds And Flowers

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Planning a wedding is a joyous and stressful time for many couples, so why not find ways to make it easier on your selves? These hints and tricks can help you pick out the best flowers for your wedding without going to pieces.

Choose a theme: When it comes to your wedding, you’ll want to think of the overall theme before you go in and choose the flowers. This is the simplest way to narrow the field. If you want something more traditional, then you can find flowers like roses and lilies for a classic touch. Are you color coordinating your wedding? When deciding on the flowers, remember that naturally colored flowers are much easier to source and kinder to your pocket. If you want to go all out and make your theme as real as possible, you may have to look harder to find the flowers you need. So it is important that you know that your wedding makeup must match your wedding.

Seasonally speaking: Going for the in-season flowers on your wedding day makes your job easier. In summers and warmer months, bright blooms are easy to find, while the winters or cooler climate brings the in more resilient varieties like chrysanthemums. Your florist will be able to tell you which flowers are available at different times of the year. Seasonal flowers grown locally will be much cheaper than those flown in from other places. That is why everyone should learn how to grow roses from cuttings .

Complicating it all: Rather than choosing several different types of flowers, stick to one dominant flower and accentuate it with less prominent blooms. You could even accentuate with ferns or other greenery in place of flowers. Fresh flowers are always more appealing but if you don’t want to be too extravagant, silk flowers can work just as well. Silk rose petals can be sprinkled on all the tables and centerpieces can be gifted to relatives. Flower for your wedding are a way to decorate and illustrate a theme to your guests. Take your time to choose flowers that create a beauty accent and then marvel at how they look in your pictures. The whole event will be enhanced by the jewelry worn. Both the bride and groom should strive to know how to clean diamonds .

Old radio shows are great for all!

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

When I started commuting almost an hour and a half to work, I got really, really bored. That’s a long drive, and frankly the news plays the same 5 minute sound bytes over and over again. I was losing my mind.

That’s when I discovered old radio shows. I happened to be searching online and came across it. I don’t remember exactly what led me to it, but I’m so glad I found it.

My discovery led to some great old shows like The Shadow, Abbot and Costello, Lights Out, Campbell’s Theater. Very cool stuff. My drive to and from work for the day suddenly became a highlight instead of a chore.

However, the more I listened to the radio drama shows, the more I got interested in whether or not there were any new shows that were created in the same “spirit” as the old ones.

Sure enough, there were! Great shows like Red Panda Adventures and Black Jack Justice from Decoder Ring Theater products. Very cool stuff.

Now, any time I’m bored sitting in a waiting room or taking a long drive, or just whatever, I let old time radio keep me entertained and enthralled instead of twiddling my thumbs.

To my great surprise, I often find myself wishing that my waits or drives were longer! Now how’s that for proof of how great these cool shows are?
