If you’ve already embarked on a mission to find the ideal breakdown cover, you’ve no doubt realized there’s a vast amount of companies offering this service. Of course, you don’t need me to tell you that AA and Green Flag are perhaps the two top providers in the United Kingdom.

However, it’s only to be expected that before you make a decision, you’ll want to take a closer look at their respective policies, in order to determine which company provides the most suitable cover.

To be more specific, AA and Green Flag are both listed in the top three companies in the UK. While AA holds the top spot and Green Flag is in third position, both companies enjoy overwhelming popularity on UK roads.

The key difference between the two is that while AA provides personal cover, Green Flag provides vehicle cover. Furthermore, while AA utilizes their own patrols, Green Flag makes use of independent patrols.

Some Basic Facts

Of course, when one is searching for suitable breakdown cover, it’s always a good idea to look at a few basic facts. For example, AA and Green Flag both offer discounts for those who choose to purchase cover online.

Furthermore, AA have approximately 4000 of their own patrols and Green Flag have about 6000 although as mentioned, these are independent patrols which are not owned by the company.

According to statistics regarding response times, customers of both companies wait an average of 40 minutes for help to arrive, which is certainly impressive when compared to some of the other companies out there. European breakdown cover is included in Green Flag’s top policy although with AA, it a specific cover on its own.
